Crunch time with kids

I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to this… There is a mountain of stuff to get done and not enough time to do it in. My brain says cram until you collapse, but reality says its kid time. Fridays are for juniper. Today we got up, had a nice breakfast, had a play date, a haircut and lunch with friends. There was a little grocery shopping and some book reading. I took an hour or so, with her nagging me to play with her, to respond to some school emails, but for the most part, the day is hers. Hard to switch gears back and forth with major deadlines looming but I’m proud of myself that for the most part I can put my todo list on the back burner and enjoy my time with my daughter, because it’s by far my most important job. I’m glad it’s fun almost all of the time.
