Thank you Tom

On his way to work today, Tom spied this free kitchen cabinet around the corner from our house. As soon as I got his message, I rushed over in our car and heaved it into the back (all by myself! It was heavy). It will be perfect as a surface for doing my encaustics and the cabinet has fantastic storage spaces for paintings. Seems perfect. The counter top is a little warped but it should be fine.

I spent some time trying to carve out a little area for my easle but I need to just clear off the back wall, somehow find new places for all the painting boxes we have. We’ve been filling up the walls little by little with paintings. Funny, I always figured when we moved we’d have so much more wall space for paintings. We have basement space, but upstairs, there aren’t very many spaces for larger paintings. Oh well. We’ll have to do some rotating throughout the year.

I started working on two native bee houses this weekend. One is for mason bees, the other for bumble bees. I’m photographing the process of making them and will post pics soon. I also started on my new raised bed. This one will be deeper than the two existing ones and is in the sunniest spot in the garden. Can’t wait to get it built.
