Greens 100

I made it to 100 servings of greens since February 1st! At this rate I might hit 500 by the end of the year. My original plan of 365 servings in 2013 now seems too easy and I might just aim higher.

I decided to make a bit of a ritual out of number 100. I served it in my favorite bowl and ate it outside in the backyard. What a glorious afternoon. Spring is in the air and I’ve got my own little garden of greens sprouting up in the corner of the yard. I’m loving eating all these greens. This might sound a little hokey but every time I choose to eat a big salad or some sautéed greens, I feel like I’m getting a little better at loving myself. I’ve lost a handful of pounds, nothing spectacular, but I feel pretty good. I’m going to try and do yoga once or twice a week until school starts. That should make me feel even better.

I started this project because you always here that you should eat lots of leafy greens. I found that I wasn’t really incorporating as much in my diet as I could so I thought if I made it a project, I’d focus on eating greens every day and I could maybe start a pattern that will stick with me of just always having greens in my meals. Sometimes all you need is a cup of intention and a dash of action to start something going in the right direction.

So onward! More greens!
